About Me

My photo
I'm a simple man, not a simpleton. The worst thing any of our leaders can do is to get those two things confused. I'm a warrior for those things I believe in. I stand up for my friends, family, God, and country. All I truly want is for the government to stay as far out of my life as I can get it. Oh and just in case you haven't guessed it; I'm conservative in my bones.

My 100th Post: A Look Back.

Well, this is my 100th post here since last Sept. and I have been pondering what I would write about on this somewhat auspicious moment. I decided that I would look back at some of my earlier writings and see how we are progressing in light of what I prognosticated. So, here goes a few.

On 10/21/08 I wrote a piece called "Election draws near. or... For whom the Bell Tolls...". Here's a small excerpt from the relevant part:

I've been thinking about which American institutions will be the first to go after the 1st of the year, and I've come to some disturbing conclusions. First, the free market is toast. We've already seen what Nancy Pelosi and her ilk are want to do, socialize, socialize, socialize. Our medical system (yes the same one that Europeans and Canadians continually come here to utilize because their own socialized system is broken) will be taken over by the government. When the backlog of patients start and people start getting vociferous in their complaints to talk radio or conservative TV, then the fairness doctrine will be brought back. There goes freedom of speech.

So far, I'm dead bang on. With one exception; instead of going with the "Fairness Doctrine" they are using the FCC and imminent domain to seize radio stations and turn them over to minorities with the intention of breaking the Conservative Talk radio stations.

Next I posted this little gem on Oct 25th, 2008 titled "Political Prostitutes". With the news of ABC completely selling out to Barry, this one on media bias is very timely right now...

"Good Lord above, where does one start? How many people involved with government, or even private politics, currently have any self-esteem? I mean, how can you get down on your knees in front of anyone with a chance at power, just so you can try and make points with them. Pick a news network and I'll show you a LOT of people that have to wipe their chins every time Barry Obama says anything, no matter how inane the statement might be.

How many people will follow a "cult of personality" just because their (the politician, preacher, pope, etc., etc.) personality happens to be stronger than theirs(citizen). My God in Heaven! As a society we've become nothing but a bunch of lemmings. We make no decisions for ourselves. Instead we run to the first person that says, "Don't worry! I and my administration will provide "A" "B" "C" for you and you won't have to bother with it. (insert your socialist policy of choice for the letters). What was it that started the watering down of the American blood? What was it that weakened our spines and took self reliance away from us? Was it the "New Deal"? I honestly want to know. Have we merely become subject to a repeat of the history of all the rest of the great societies(Rome, Greece, Egypt)? Have we run the course that is defined by our human failings and are unable to go beyond without first having our freedoms and rights taken from us?"

There is soooo much I want to say on this topic but I'm pretty sure I'd be whipping a dead horse. So, moving right along...

On Dec. 1st, 2008 I posted an essay called "America the Christian Nation- The Argument" Considering Barry's words, both in Europe and then again to the Muslims, I feel that this is apropos.

"I have been told, recently, that America was not a Christian nation. Also, I was told that we, as Christians, are a minority. I decided to do more research into an area that I already had a familiarity with, our birth as a nation.
This is going to be the only post that I will openly say that there will be rules to comments that are allowed to be posted here. If you have an argument, then you MUST show proof of claims. I will not allow speculation or emotional arguments. I will provide proofs to everything that I claim as Truth.

Firstly, I should go back to the beginnings. What was the motivation for the people that originally came to America? The original colonists were made up of people that came to America for the purpose of preserving their religous beliefs. They were in opposition to the Church of England and knew that the only way for them to be able to worship and live as they believed was to leave and move to Amsterdam. Due to an inability to understand and integrate into life in the Netherlands led the Pilgrims to leave and with the help of English investors, created the first colonies in the New World. The centerpiece of the colonists government was a belief in God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. -paraphrased from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pilgrims."

Funny, I would have thought that Barry would have been better educated. Oops, someone played hooky during american History.

Aside from all of these, I have written on my dreams for America and my fears of what she'll become. I have looked into myself to find out what I can do to strengthen this nation's sovereignty and I have corresponded with some of the best people that this nation has to offer. Thank you for coming with me on this journey into history, thus far. I hope that you all will stick around as long as we are allowed to continue to keep me on my toes. "As iron sharpens iron, so does one man sharpen another."

God bless all of you and I will see you later for 101.

Congratulations on 100 posts. You have certainly opened my eyes to some issues I was not clear on. Thank you for your honesty and even your vulnerability at times. You have certainly become a great blog friend to this gramma and I am looking forward to many more posts from you.

Congratulations on your 100th post. It is a milestone and indicates that you are going to be around in the blogging world for quite some time!

As to what is happening with conservative talk radio, I didn't know that they were seizing these stations and handing them to minorities. Are you sure about that? How can these actions be legally justified?

You know, as a Black person I have always been incensed at race based quotas and thought we were already rid of them. I always knew that these laws would garner a huge backlash and that they were inherently unfair.

It is a known fact that the socioeconomic position of people tends to limit the amount of education they can attain and it limits the PREPARATION of people if their parents are always broke and cannot spend time or money sending them off to math camp or whatever else.

Affirmative action should never have been based upon racial preferences at all; it should have attacked the beast that cares naught about color; POVERTY.

But when the powers that be made aff action into a race based quota system, the damage seems to have been done and in the year 2009 we are still bitching about it.

That saddens me. I truly cannot stand talk radio whether con or lib, but if what you say is true I am saddened that such power grabs have occurred in the name of 'equilizing the playing field.' The election of our President should have shown that such programmes aren't needed and intensify tension on both sides of the aisle.
