Who Is Really To Blame?

Disclaimer: This one will probably anger a good many of the people that read this blog. I apologize for hurt feelings, however, I must stand by my opinions and assertions.

Ok, so every day I read about 27 different blogs religiously, so to speak. I visit 5 different news sites, and listen to several talk radio personalities. I watch Fox News and every once in a while, I force myself to briefly (very briefly) visit MSNBC or CNN. All this is listed for the purpose of showing that I try to stay informed on the issues, and it doesn't even touch on the fact that I do a LOT of research in Government documents and historical documents to support my opinions. As my profile says, "I'm a simple man, not a simpleton..."

I preface this post this way so as to let people know that I'm not just (or totally anyways) shooting from the hip with my assertions. So, without further ado, let's get to the rat killing.

One and all, Conservatives are laying the current lousy state of affairs at the feet of Barry Obama and the Congress. To a certain point it is not untrue to say that our march to socialism would not be moving at a double time if not for these *ahem* worthy people. However, who is really to blame? Who should be taking it on the chin every morning when they get up, for allowing this to happen? (As my mother used to say, "This is where the toes get pulled under the pew." American Conservatives.

The 10 Trillion dollar debt in the next 10 years? Gitmo closing? Interrogation memos being released? Huge pork laden budget plan? Yep, they all fall on our own shoulders. For years, we've sat back and just let things happen. We were content to sit in our own little worlds and let the "live and let live" mentality dictate our daily lives. Meanwhile, the limp wristed left were showering our government with money, and favors to pull our Republic down roads it was never intended to go.

Roe v. Wade was never beaten back and it's caused the deaths of 49 million children in America. Welfare was not beaten back and it's caused the destruction of the Black family and insured that the black vote goes to democrats every year. Medicare and Social Security were never beaten back and now the "Seasoned Citizen" vote, as Rush Limbaugh would say, goes to the Dems because of fear mongering on the left. The idea of "Gay Rights" has never been stepped on because of the idea that we have to be politically correct and not offend people. Now, marriage is under attack. To justify the leftist policies that they (the left, liberals, dope smoking-maggot infested hippies, whatever you want to call them) have put forth, they have made every attempt to outlaw Christianity. Still, the Conservatives in America did nothing to stop them. And in using the "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" point of view the liberals are now advocating tolerance of Islamic beliefs in America. Sharia law anyone?

Oh yes, I know that there have always been small efforts by very dedicated people to overthrow these things, but even we relegated them to the fringe instead of supporting them. We've perhaps, sent contributions to the NRA or to some other Conservative group, but we've never stood up en masse and protested. We've never shown up at the polls with a Conservative candidate to carry our banner, with the notable exception of Reagan. In this last debacle of an election cycle, there were several people that would have made decent conservative Presidents. Alan Keyes stands out, and so does Mitt Romney (his apparent pro-life/pro-choice flipping aside). Instead we settled on John McCain. What the hell were we thinking?!?!? Oh that's right, we WEREN'T.

All we wanted to do was punish the Republicans for acting like Democrats. Congratulations we threw the baby out with the bathwater. What should have happened was to vote out the entrenched incumbents in primaries and keep the Republican numbers up. But the "let's punish the Republican" idea took hold and poof, we've got Barry Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Arlen Specter, and a 10 trillion dollar deficit. We've got a government that cut its own throat in regards to protecting our nation. We've got Nationalization of private companies and the largest power grab by an administration in U.S. history.

Who's to blame? Look in the mirror. How do we fix it? Now that's a hard question, and I believe that America doesn't want to look that one in the eyes yet.

Semi-Regular Rant

This is my 80th posting since I started this blog last year. Since Sept. of last year I've seen the Republican Party collapse in on itself like a rotten melon. I saw a Republican President forgo his belief in the free market and embrace socialism. I've seen our territorial sovereignty given up for political expediency and our allies abandoned for the same reason. I've seen Federal elections stolen and a possible usurper (still to be determined) put in the oval office. I've seen our nation take the largest and fastest run towards socialism in our nations history and seen the debt my children are being born with skyrocket.

I've seen Tea Parties and hope. I've seen those hopes ignored by our government and spit on by the media. I've seen the 1st, 2nd, 9th, and 10th amendments to the constitution utterly ignored by our government. I've seen jobs in my state start to dry up like the dust bowl we here in Oklahoma are famous for. I've seen worse happen in other places with nothing to show for it but promises of a utopia to come if we just give Barry the time.

I've seen overt and covert attacks on liberties and Conservatives and veterans labeled as extremists. I've seen my government hamstring it's own ability to protect the nation and I've seen a huge population of our country hide their heads in the sand to avoid having to stare at the truth. I've seen our President hold the largest fire drill in the history of New York.

I've been labeled a racist, an islamophobe, a xenophobe, and a fascist. I've stayed awake nights crying out to God for answers only to have the ceiling stare back at me in mute witness. I've seen combat troops stationed in the streets of America in direct violation of the Posse Commitatus act, and been forced to wonder what is it they are getting us used to this for.

I look at my children as they sleep and know that when they wake each and every morning from this point on, the only way they will know the America that I grew up in will be in books or old media clips. I despair that our nation will be able to rally itself and kill this cancer that has infected our moral and spiritual fiber. I fear that we shall never again, as a nation, be able to taste the true, clean taste of success in our endeavors.

I watch the news and see prophecy brought to life. I pray for forgiveness for my weak faith. As well as praying for mercy on this country that has killed 49 million of its own babies. I know that things will come out as they are supposed to but I find myself throwing myself at the bars of the cage that is being forced on us, much like my namesake would if he found himself in captivity.

I rage, and snarl at the evil that I feel sinking further and further into our nation. Moral relativism is eroding the foundation that gave us a clear moral purpose in the world. Political Correctness does the same for the social discourse. Christianity is being incrementally outlawed and sharia law is trying to take root.

I despair. I fear. I rage. I rant and yell and fight the enemies as they come to me, all the while knowing that it isn't enough. That at some point someone will pull me down and my children will have to take up the fight.

Well, that's all the bile I have left in me for one night. Tomorrow, the sun should come out and I should be able to post something a little more upbeat. We'll just have to see. God bless you and keep you.

New Orleans is the most liberally run City, in the most liberally run state in the south. With liberals in charge, and in light of the noise coming from the White House and Capital Hill, everyone needs to understand where we are headed for. What are you going to do when they come for yours?

I will bet there's a lot of people in New Orleans that thought this wouldn't have happened to them either. I sure wish I could just lay this at the Democrats feet, but the republicans are just as culpable.

The Age Of Soft Tyrrany

My fellow Americans and Patriots. We have made grave errors in the past few years that have come home like the prodigal son's evil twin. For instead of trying to make amends and try to earn our favor back, these have come home to enslave the household and usurp the father's place as ruler.

This generation alone, is not solely responsible for what has happened. Neither is the last. Although they are responsible for accelerating the process. Indeed we all have a stake in this failure. All the way back to what is referred to as the greatest generation. They were drawn in by promises of utopia during a horrible time in our nation's past. They made the mistake of looking to the government for the answers to their problems instead of looking to those that the founders entrusted with the power. Themselves.

As a nation, we were to be a self-governed people. Our founders saw government as an evil that would by nature try to subjugate its people. During the Revolutionary war, they operated the country on the Articles of Confederation. It was just one step forward from absolute anarchy. They had just broken free from the other end of the spectrum, absolute tyranny through the English Crown, and were hell bent to avoid the constrictions of government. Therefore, the first attempt at a cohesive nation failed miserably.

The individual states were raising their own armies and making treaties with foreign countries. The federal government had no way to even raise funds to support itself. So a delegation from each state was sent to Philadelphia to set up a new Constitution. The Constitution's main purpose was to LIMIT government. It speaks in the 10th Amendment of the States and People having all powers not specifically enumerated for the government. As such, the Constitution was only a small step farther down the road past the Articles of Confederation. There was enough power granted to the government to effectively support the states' cohesion, but not enough granted to become burdensome.

Fast forward to FDR and the new deal and you see the point in which the Constitution's firewalls were breached. At first the Supreme court tried to hold back "The New Deal" by striking down many of its programs as un-Constitutional. But under threats from the President to pack the courts with sympathetic judges, they were finally cowed and Socialism started its march into American governance. It has been a steady pace to where we are today. In Europe they take jerky bursts of speed in their reach for the evils of tyranny, but the ideas of aristocracy was violently ripped from our social conscience through the Revolutionary War.

We have allowed ourselves to be suckered at the spoiled tit of a dying cow. Our government cannot meet the promises and obligations it has taken on, so it taxes the producers more and more and increases the "soft tyranny" of economic Socialism by taking over larger and larger segments of the American market.

The sad thing is that it is almost inevitable that all soft tyrannies become hard tyrannies in the end. Very rarely does any nation that is free, after losing their liberty, ever regain it. It can be done, however, it will be painful and possibly a bloody ordeal. The media is parasitically latched on to the socialists that populate our government, and due to the government's limits on free speech we have become more and more needful of the mainstream media's information and news to make decisions. Therefore, information needed to make rational, reasoned decisions is being controlled.

I wish I had the answers as to how to fix our nations problems, but I don't. I do know that the key to the future is with our children and educating them in our history. The public screwl system is hell bent on indoctrinating our youth. It is up to us to do this if it is going to be done. First, everyone needs to go to the Heritage Foundation website and have them send you a free pocket constitution/declaration of Independence. Read it for yourself and for your children. Get your children's imagination wrapped around the truth of our founding so that they can combat the training at screwl.

Pray. Pray to God that we find our way back. Otherwise, we should hang our heads each time we look in our children's faces. We have mortgaged their future and those of their progeny. Our nation must be forced back onto the straight and narrow, by any means necessary.

Manifesto -Updated

As I said a few days ago, a good right wing extremist simply must keep his Manifesto up to date so here is the new and updated version.

This work is to serve as a reference and manifesto for those things which I as a patriot and avowed conservative believe and hold dear. Let there be no mistake, these are sacred principles to myself and like minded individuals:

1. Semper fidelis priores - Always faithful to our forefathers. The forefathers of this great land gave us the two most important papers ever written in the history of governance of the human race: The declaration of independence and the Constitution of the United States. These two works have provided for our liberties and shackled the government's ability to oppress and enslave (as ALL governments are want to do) for over 200 years. If we are faithful to these documents, then we will continue to prosper.

2. We acknowledge the fact that this country was founded on Judeo-Christian ideals and beliefs. Separation of Church and state is a myth. I do not believe, nor do ANY true conservatives, that we should ever have a theocracy (government of a state by immediate divine guidance or by officials who are regarded as divinely guided). We should, instead be governed by men who hold freedoms dear and take a clear lead from God in the way things should be done. It has been said of America, by liberals mainly, that we must have a "wall of separation of church and state" due to this being a pluralistic society. Those ideas are some of the foundations of the cancer that has been eating at the core of our society. As a conservative, I call for a return to the founders' dream of an educated, moral, and God-fearing society.

3. People should stand on their own. To thrive or fail is every one's choice. It is not up to the government to prop up people or companies that do not work. In a free market and a free society, natural law will always provide for strength in our economy and our society. If a company cannot maintain then it must be allowed to fail. Will it be painful in some cases? Yes. Will the survivors of such an event learn from it and make a stronger company? Absolutely. The same can be said of individuals. Only those that cannot provide for themselves in any way should be taken care of by the government. Food stamps, AFDC, Child tax credits, and Earned income Tax Credits are welfare. They are methods of taking money from those that produce and giving it to those that do not. This is patently unfair and socialist. If you take from those that produce, you take away their ability to create further wealth by reducing the proceeds of their hard work, you take away their incentive to try. This disables the ability for small business and those that would dream to start a small business to create jobs and wealth.

4. The right to bear arms is NOT a hunter's rights issue. The 2nd amendment was to provide for the security of a citizen's home and his freedom. It was the one right guaranteed in the Constitution that was designed first and foremost as a protection against a tyrannical government. It was put into the constitution with the clear purpose of granting the People the ability to wage war on said government. You simply cannot do that with dear rifles and 12 ga. shotguns. Those that would trim or outright cut that right, fight against the freedoms that we hold dear because they do not believe that each and every American has the right and ability to rule themselves and decide how their lives will go. And it is this, above all else, that we must be steadfast in opposing, even to our last breaths.

5. States' Rights: The federal government has more and more tried to interfere with the internal working and governance of the States. This is in direct violation of the 10th Amendment and I call upon the federal government to cease and desist all actions that seek to undermine the sovereignty of the states. I call upon all states to follow the lead of those that have passed 10th Amendment resolutions such as Oklahoma and others have. I call on those states that have passed such measures to follow through and put teeth into such measures by demanding a permanent suspension of illegal activities under threat of secession from the Union or forced removal of those guilty of usurpation of the powers of the states and people.

6. Extremist labels: We Conservatives have been labeled extremists by our government. This is a direct attempt to force us to back away from our movements and goals. This will not happen. We are steadfast in our resolve and will continue to fight the tyranny of a corrupt government and their lackeys in the mainstream media.

6. Conclusion: We the people of the United States, in Order to reform a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do make it a solemn and sacred mission for ourselves and those that believe as we do, to protect the Constitution from liberal Judges and corrupt politicians whose continued dominance in elected offices means more than the social, religious, and economic freedoms and sovereignty this country was, is , and forever will be founded on. To this end, we will use all methods granted by the Constitution and Declaration of Independence to pursue it. For those that love this country and the dream that it was to become, we are the strongest of supporters. To those that would tear down our standing and strengths by trying to inject the failed policies and social mores of countries that our founders and countless members of subsequent generations have fled from, we will be a thorn to your foot. We will be every bit as ruthless and dedicated to the just Cause of Liberty as those that have fought and died for over 200 years to protect it have been. We will meet you in the press and in the ballot box. We will meet you in the streets and in meeting halls. We will meet you in Courts and in Congress and in the last defense of our nation, in killing fields.

This is my Manifesto. All those that agree, feel free to add your name. All those that oppose feel free to disregard it as you have all social, fiscal and legal conservatives. The reckoning will come at any rate.

Political Prostitutes -Revisited

This is a re-post of a blog from Oct. 25, 2008. Once again, I am recycling something that I feel I said very well (yes, I toot my own horn) and is particularly relevant today. With the media coverage, or rather non-coverage this week of the Tea Party movement, I thought this was apropos.

Good Lord above, where does one start? How many people involved with government, or even private politics, currently have any self-esteem? I mean, how can you get down on your knees in front of anyone with a chance at power, just so you can try and make points with them. Pick a news network and I'll show you a LOT of people that have to wipe their chins every time Barry Obama says anything, no matter how inane the statement might be.

How many people will follow a "cult of personality" just because their (the politician, preacher, pope, etc., etc.) personality happens to be stronger than theirs(citizen). My God in Heaven! As a society we've become nothing but a bunch of lemmings. We make no decisions for ourselves. Instead we run to the first person that says, "Don't worry! I and my administration will provide "A" "B" "C" for you and you won't have to bother with it. (insert your socialist policy of choice for the letters). What was it that started the watering down of the American blood? What was it that weakened our spines and took self reliance away from us? Was it the "New Deal"? I honestly want to know. Have we merely become subject to a repeat of the history of all the rest of the great societies(Rome, Greece, Egypt)? Have we run the course that is defined by our human failings and are unable to go beyond without first having our freedoms and rights taken from us?

Complicit in this fall are all the politicians, talking heads, reporters, "journalists", and celebrities that parade themselves in front of us demanding that ALL ideas are equal. That ALL points of view (except those of the founders) are valid. These "useful idiots", as Lenin called them, yell and scream that social and fiscal conservatives are racists and hate mongers. That we would kill the old and deprive the young of food. I find it hard to credit that they even believe the tripe that they spew. All of this is for the ability to make themselves feel morally superior. Or in a vast number of cases they just want to increase their power base by feeding off of the ready number of people that, through previous attempts to push socialist ideas, feel like someone should feel sorry for them as "victims". These last are not hard to find in any city, state, or federal governmental body. Look for those that see their power as a right. Look for those that are entrenched in their position of authority. These people will say whatever they must, destroy anyone they must, to further their power and position.

Our Federal Congress is full to bursting with the refuse of our political gene pool. Nothing will change (God knows I hate that word now) until ALL of them are removed, term limits are instituted and we are able to burn them out and start over.

Hollywood and the mainstream media have become a blight on our nation's image. I find it horrible that these people are kept on the screen by our money. Unfortunately no one since the Dixie Chicks has been told to "just shut up and sing!!!" or act, or report. Stop trying to be the news and just report it. Make movies but keep your insane, disconnected, mentally atrophied, Marxist ideas to yourself.

Tea Parties. A Few Thoughts After The Fact.

Evening folks. Tonight I have a couple of admitions to make. First off, I expected there to be may 30 or 40 Tea Parties and maybe a couple thousand people involved. I had no clue. I am honestly blown away by the fact that there were over 700 cities hosting over 2000 tea parties. Oklahoma, I am proud to say had over 36. Never before in America has there been such a strong support for a genuine Conservative ideal.

As I watched coverage of the Tea Parties, it struck me that there were people in attendance from all political parties and none. There were youth, college kids, middle class, upper class, unemployed, and Grandmothers with canes, in attendance. Also as I watched I noticed a big difference between these protests and the typical liberal protest. There was no bile spewing. No vitriolic ranting over percieved injustices. The spirit of the protests was most akin to a new years eve party (without the alcohol and dick clark).

Well, the only bile I saw was from a CNN reporter. Found a video after they cut from another blogger that showed a group taking her to task. I loved it, however, please notice that it never made it on the news. In that same vein I'd like to inject another observation: The liberal news media has once again shown that it is not at all interested in reporting news. Only in creating it. I have heard pundits and talking heads on Fox News and talk radio talk about how "out of touch" or "clueless" the left wing press is about the truth and what these Tea Parties mean, and I would like to disagree. They aren't "clueless" or "out of touch". On the contrary, they know EXACTLY what they mean. And they believe, if they ignore them they will just go away and fade back into their jobs and lives, now that they have had their say.

I must confess, that I too worry that many will do exactly that. It's one thing for the Conservative movement to take a day off and show up at a rally/protest once. (off topic: Ray Charles' version of America the beautiful is playing. I love that man's music.) But to take it up a notch? Not so sure the anger is cranked up enough in America. Or that it can be. In many ways we've become soft and ignorant of our history. Our youth are being taught in school that Government is the answer to all our ills, and have been for decades now. To quote the un-Rev. Wright, "America's chickens are coming home to roost." If the MSM doesn't piss people off, the government's reaction should. Nanci-the wicked witch of the west-Pelosi called the Party-goers Neo-Nazis, and the President's mouthpieces say that at best the goers were misled.

I think it's apparent that the government is going to pretend that this didn't happen. Just like the media. None of the concerns are even going to be addressed. Back to business as usual. The conservatives have had their cry, now they'll go back to work and the government can go back to dismantling the shreds of the Consitution that are left. In all of this, I found one thing to be extremely interesting. The Governor of Texas admitted that at some point Texans may want to secede from the union.

Now that would be a wake up call. They seceded from Mexico because they (Mexico) refused to rule by the Constitution that was in place, and now they find themselves coming full circle. If that movement starts up, look for me standing inside the Alamo with the true Texicans. If that started, I wonder how many states would try to join in, if any.

Now speaking of states, Oklahoma has really stepped up to the plate this year. For the first time in our state's history the Republicans have control of the Congress. So far, there are some good things to report. Last year, the House passed the "10 Amendment Resolution" reasserting state's rights and telling the federal government to "Cease and desist" their medling in state affairs, but it got shot down by a then Democratically controlled Senate. This year, it passed both houses and is now sitting on (D) Governor Henry's desk. We'll see how much he wants to get re-elected. Also, there is a proposal by Republican Senators to take the stimulus money that the Feds shoved down their throats and just give it back to the people in sales tax refunds. 3.6 billion devided amongst 3.5 million people comes out pretty good. Also, there is a bill proposed to allow voters to decide to make English Oklahoma's official language. I hope that that goes through but the ACLU and others are trying to derail the vote.

Generally, I'm not a big fan of the Republicans but I have noted a distinct difference between state and national leaders. State leaders still seem to have their souls intact. Although our U.S. Senators seem to have their act together. Both men are honorable and Conservative. And what's even more interesting, is they seem to be in touch with their constituents wishes.

Well, that's my thoughts today. God bless you all, and remember, it's time to step up the pressure if you want the libs to take notice. And it's also time to take stock in how far each and every one of us is willing to take this "revolution".

Homeland Security on guard for 'right-wing extremists'

It seems that the government has, indeed, been reading this website. Well, probably not, but then again, who knows? The point is, battle lines are clearly being drawn, with justifications already being written up. We are on notice, "Right Wingers", "Ultra-Right Christians", "America Firsters", and all others who see the Federal Government as a clear and present danger to our liberty, better keep our heads down. The arguments are being made for the rounding up of Americans as "terrorists".

In the light of this report, I have to say that I do not know how much longer we will be able to write our beliefs and feelings here with impunity. The fact is, I am not well known. Perhaps I am more fringe than others here. Perhaps I am just not entertaining, but whatever the cause, my numbers allow me some anonymity. That anonymity allows me, for now, to speak my mind without (much) fear of reprisal.

Hell, according to the report I'm considered the trifecta of domestic terrorism: Ex-military, adherant to the Constitution, and Christian Fundamentalist. Look out ladies, I'm the new boogy man. I expect the President will send the Taliban to round me up some day soon. Until then I'll keep posting. Later, I will be updating my manifesto and reposting. Every good terrorist simply HAS to have an up to date manifesto.

Semi-Regular Rant

Good evening to all and sundry. Or it would be a good evening if I could just concentrate on My Lord this Easter. Instead, I'm reading the news and wondering how much more evil from my own government I can take before my head explodes. I've used three rolls of duct tape and I can still feel the pressure building.

From Justice Ginsburg's justification of sighting FOREIGN law in U.S. Constitutional cases to Reports that Obama's defense lawyers are threatening sanctions against anyone that files lawsuits to see Barry's real birth certificate.

We've got the Government taking over our private industries and financial systems, Obama doing what no other President in history has ever done, bowing to another nation's sovereign king, then lying through his teeth (or rather his spokesman's teeth) about it. And his pissing on the Declaration of Independance by giving a foreign board power over U.S. companies.

Now, we've got backdoor legislation being introduced to curb the 2nd amendment and yet another amnesty bill getting ready to head to congress, this year. No matter what the conservative belief, Barry's hell bent on attacking it.

He's racked up a pretty hefty debt and promised (well not directly, but it amounts to the same thing) to triple it in 9 years as his budget priorities start getting passed. And paying for it by increasing taxes on everyone. For those of you that smoke, how do you like that 128% jump in taxes on your cancer sticks? Tell me that isn't a tax increase on low income folks.

We've had hundreds of "Tea Parties" and the only major outlet covering them is FoxNews. Granted, they are the leader in ratings, but it doesn't change the fact that NO ONE in the government or the Presiden'ts office has even bothered to respond to the premise of these parties.

If dialogue and discourse fail, what is our next step? If we are ignored do we just keep having tea parties? Has anyone thought about the next step? Or does everyone involved in this use it like a therapist's chair. "I just need to get this off my chest. Won't you sit and listen?" Then after it's over they all go back to their homes, jobs, and unfair taxes with the moral superiority for having "stood up to the government". Nothing changes. No one in the government even seems to notice.

The whole thing reminds me of when my oldest son was a baby. We would tell him to do something or tell him "no" about something and he'd sit in the floor and scream or cry and we'd just go about our business. If we didn't give him the attention he wanted, he finally got tired of it and started doing something else. I think that's what the government is doing to us, ignoring us and hoping that we just go away. Trouble is, in the past, they were right.

I keep asking, what next? The silence is deafening.

A Lesson For Nanny Staters

First, I'd like to say that I'm definately NOT a fan of this show. However, that being said, I'd have to say that for all those people looking to the government for handouts and money when the economy turns south, there can be no better advice than this clip. Of course to be effective the message really should be delivered just as it was here. With the exception of the F-bomb which I apologize for to those that may be offended.

A Muslim I Could Like

This woman is probably one of the most couragious that I've ever seen. She went on a show in Saudi Arabia and went after Sharia Law. I fear that she may not live long, but I'll do my part to spread her words.

Wake up! What does this say to you?

This is an exerpt from a speech given by Joel C. Rosenburg at an Epicenter conference. There were over 20,000 people in attendance with another estimated 10,500 watching the webcast. Again this is only a partial transcript as much would not make sense if you were not there. Personally, I think this is very powerful.

In Luke 12:54-56, Jesus urged us to understand the times in which we live…..

And Jesus was saying to the crowds – When you see a cloud rising in the west, immediately you say, “A shower is coming,” and so it turns out. And when you see a south wind blowing, you say, “It will be a hot day,” and it turns out that way. You hypocrites! You know how to analyze the appearance of the earth and the sky, but why do you not analyze this present time?

During the course of this conference, we’re going to analyze this present time and examine some of the most serious threats and crises facing us today.But let’s begin with the economy.

  • The U.S. unemployment rate has skyrocketed from 4.5% in the beginning of 2007 to 8.1% today….12.5 million Americans are currently out of work. Some 2.6 million Americans have lost their jobs in just the last four months. Nearly 1.2 million American families have lost their homes since 2007. California has been hit particularly hard – the Golden State had the second highest rate of house foreclosures in the nation in February.
  • In 2008, Americans lost some $6.9 trillion in wealth in the stock markets.
  • When you combine stock market losses and the collapse of home values, Americans have lost $11.2 trillion in household wealth in the last 18 months, according to Federal Reserve Bank data.
  • And with the loss of jobs, and the loss of homes, and the loss of so much wealth has come a loss of confidence, a loss of hope.

Americans, of course, are not alone.

The head of the International Monetary Fund told a reporter last month: “The world is in a dire economic crisis….The crisis will push millions into poverty and unemployment, risking social unrest and even war, and urgent action is required…”

  • A new report by a private Wall Street firm finds: “Between 40 and 45 percent of the world’s wealth has been destroyed in little less than a year and a half,”….and adds: “this is absolutely unprecedented in our lifetime.”
  • British Prime Minister Gordon Brown recently told a conference in Europe that 100 million people have been thrust into poverty as a result of the global economic crisis. He cited a World Bank statistic that “half a million children will die simply because they won’t have enough to live on.”
  • What’s more, the Prime Minister added: “It is absolutely clear that the global institutions that we built in the 1940s are quite incapable of dealing with the problems that we have now.”

The global financial institutions we have today are the most sophisticated the world has ever known – yet clearly they are failing us. The world’s leaders just met at the G20 summit in London – yet clearly they have no answers. Many are looking to Washington for a rescue plan they can count on – but it is far from clear Washington knows what to do. Washington’s plan is to try to spend our way out of the crisis, to add $9.3 trillion to the national debt over the next decade. It’s a plan that is leaving many here at home and around the world fearful or angry. How, they ask, can we possibly add $9 trillion in debt to the $10 trillion in debt we’re already passing on to our children and grandchildren?

CNBC’s Jim Cramer – long a supporter of President Obama – has in just the past two months become a sharp critic of what he calls the new administration’s “radical agenda.” He calls the administration’s spending plans “the greatest wealth destruction I’ve seen by a President.” What’s more, he says the President’s plans have created “a level of fear in this country that I have not seen ever in my life.” In this, he is quite right. A new poll finds that “53% [of Americans] now think the United States is…likely to enter a 1930’s-like depression within the next few years.”

Not surprisingly, our newspapers are filled with stories of the emotional impact of the economic crisis – more cases of drug and alcohol abuse, more case of spousal and child abuse, and this is just the beginning. A suicide hotline near Los Angeles reports a 60% spike in calls since the crisis began. A suicide hotline near Chicago reports a 70% increase in recent months. A national suicide hotline is also seeing a 70% increase in calls.

“People are fearful,” says a family therapist in Richmond, Virginia, quoted in a newspaper article I read recently. “Nobody knows what is next, so there is a lot more anxiety.”

“A lot of people have lost their jobs for the first time,” says the executive director of a crisis hotline near Lynchburg, Virginia. “It hits them pretty hard. They don’t know where to turn

Perhaps that is why you have come, or tuned into this conference. Perhaps you are fearful, not sure what will happen next….not sure where to turn. If so, let me begin with some good news. The Bible says that the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is a God who loves you and wants to adopt you into His family. The Bible says God has a plan and a purpose for your live, a plan for good and not for evil.The Bible says He is a great and powerful God. In Hebrew, we call Him El Gibor, the “mighty God.” He is all knowing, all sovereign, all powerful. He is completely in control….and He promises to give wisdom to those who seek Him.

The Bible says in Daniel 2:20-23…..

Let the name of God be blessed forever and ever, for wisdom and power belong

to Him. It is He who changes the times and the epochs. He removes kings and establishes kings. He gives wisdom to wise men, and knowledge to men of understanding. It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things….To You, O God of my fathers, I give thanks and praise….

The Bible says in James 1:5…..

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

The Lord Jesus Christ said in Matthew 11:28-30….

Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.

Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.

You and I don’t know what tomorrow holds. But God does. None of the speakers on this platform today has the ability to take care of you whenever and wherever disaster strikes. But God does. None of us in this room have the wisdom we’ll need to navigate every twist and turn in the road of life, especially with all that lies ahead. But God does.

When we read the economic news going from bad to worse month by month, it’s almost as if we can hear the ice cracking underneath our feet. Humanly speaking, we have very little influence to stop or change the current course of events.

The Bible indicates that when the return of Jesus Christ is near, life will actually get much more difficult. Jesus warned us in Matthew 24 to expect wars and rumors of wars, kingdoms rising against kingdoms, nations going to war with other nations, the rise of false messiahs and false prophets, earthquakes, famines, apostasy, lawlessness, people’s love for one another growing cold, rampant persecution of followers of Jesus Christ and so forth. It was quite a list. And we are seeing all of it coming to pass in our lifetime. And the Bible says it will get even worse as we go forward. That’s the bad news.

The good news is that the God of the Bible is a God we can trust to care for us and save us no matter what happens. So we must pray. We must get on our knees, humble ourselves, turn to the Lord and seek His wisdom, His mercy, His grace, His favor on our nation and our leaders, lest we see the current economic crisis take us into a financial death spiral.

I have no doubt the Lord is shaking our country and He is seeking to purify His Church. He is making us reconsider what we value, where our treasure is, where our hearts are. He is preparing us to see Him face to face. For when we see Him, the Bible teaches that there will be a day of accounting. He will ask us what we did with the resources He entrusted to us.

What, then, shall we say?

In Matthew 6:25-33, Jesus told us…..

Do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life?

And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Obama From Nationalizing to Internationalizing. Now What?

Ok, so the G20 is over and Obama has sold us down the river. According to the agreements made, our American companies can be controlled by an international board in the EU. So, according to Barry, we not only aren't supposed to be a free market economy, but we also aren't supposed to be a sovereign nation either.

Every mainstream liberal screamed bloody murder at the Patriot act as being unconstitutional in its scope, but their poster-child has just thrown out the Constitution completely. His reasoning? Simply put, "We won. Get over it."

How much damage are we going to let him do? My God, he's decimating our foundations in the first 4 months. We've got 4 years of this to look forward to. I submit that we will not survive four years as a free nation. Before he took office there were warnings and grumblings over what he would do, and if anything he's moving faster than any of us thought he would on the dismantling of the U.S. of A.. And the construction of the U.S.S.R. of A.. He has taken over the banking industry, portions of the insurance industry, Automakers industry and has asked, through his mouthpiece, the tax cheat, for powers to seize any company that it deems too big to allow to fail.

On Dec. 9th of 2008 I wrote In Defense (afore hand) of Revolt and laid out what I thought was a worst case scenario on what I believed was in store for us. I was very short-sighted. What Obama is instigating is much worse; he is doing away with all of our founding principles and installing his will as the final judge of what institutions are to be allowed to thrive or wither on the vine? Further he is, for the first time since our Declaration of Independance, allowing foreign governments to have a direct oversight in our national internal affairs.

Also in that piece, I laid out a case for Revolt used by our Founders. My question is this? How far are we going to let the libs and Barry take us before we do something to stop him? What can we do to stop him? There's an interesting question. The tea bag thing didn't have any effect. The national Tea Parties aren't having an effect. (Frankly they offend me. The original tea party was an act of defiance, not merely protest. It was the opening salvo of the War of Independence, not merely a chance for talking heads to raise their ratings.) The Thousands upon thousands of letters, emails, and phone calls to Representatives and Senators are falling on deaf ears. As well as the same sent to the White House.

So. We as Americans will continue to blog, and cry, and whine to people that won't listen while they drag us further and further from our Founding Principles. Is that what the blood of Washington, Jefferson, and Madison has come to? Is that all that is left for America, to become a footnote as a one-time "superpower and leader"?
