However, very early on, I was brought up short on another blog because I commented on the likelihood of armed uprising in this nation. I have also said that I believe that such an uprising is the only possibility of seeing the nation that we love, return. For these views I am relagated to the far right wing fringe and marginalized. However, since the start of the last election cycle, I've not seen ANY good news (the news of Teddy Kennedy's ultimate demise not withstanding) on the conservative front, and I'm even more convinced of the following facts:
- Socialism and Marxism have roots dug so deep in our country now that no legal action will be able to dig them out. Unless you consider the act of secession a "legal" action. There is some noise about this due to the Feds mutilation of the 10th ammendment.
- Those of us that hold to our beliefs are too few to carry out a grass roots movement of this type. Mainly, this is due to mainstream America living with their heads under the covers and nto accepting reality for what it is.
- Forces are massing right now to take even more weapons away from those of us who are law abiding, but discontented with the way the government is heading. Make no mistake, the new balloons being floated by the government on tighter gun control laws have nothing to do with crime control. It is in direct response to members of government seeing the uprising that is coming, and trying to take the teeth out of it. ( do a google search on the Army war colleges findings or Congressmen talking about civil unrest do to economic issues)
- More and more it is becoming obvious that Obama's intention is NOT to fix the economy, but to reverse all of the things that Reagan accomplished. Barry is insidious in that, given the option of two terms and not progressing with his whole agenda, or one term and pushing through all of his agenda, he'll opt for one term only.
With the obove observations, I've come to question what good we are doing on these blogs. Yes, we connect with people of like mind, and we attempt to educate people as to the things that we see happening, but are we doing any good? I don't think so. Not really. We aren't strong enough to influence those in power.
It is my contention that we need to organize. We need to pull together and form a not-for-profit or PAC that can actually get our voices into the national media or at least syndicated talk radio. Each blogger is a voice that gets drowned out in the noise of our lives. Each of us can inspire one another, but most people don't even see past their own lives, unless someone on the TV or radio tells them to look deeper. For millions of Americans, Paul Harvey was one of those voices. He was very influential and heard by people from coast to coast. Rush Limbaugh has 20 million listeners daily but he is a provocateur by nature. And I'll be the first to tell you that I believe him to be right nearly 100 percent of the time, but he's soft in areas that we can not afford. Sean Hannity might be a voice in the dark, but he's a talking points man and I find it hard to see him as authentic. Glenn Beck is a singular individual. He is pasisonate, and extremely conservative fiscally and socially. But he doesn't have the gravitasse to make national leaders stand up and take notice.
It is going to take something more. Something very like the ACLU in scope, but with the ideology of the Heritage Foundation. There are many small conservative groups but we have to find a way to bring them under one umbrella. If anyone has an idea how we can do this, respond here or email me at Greywolfe226@gmail.com and we'll see what is and is not possible. If heroic efforts are not put forth by every freedom loving man and woman in America, then I do not believe I am overstating it when I say that our only true hope will be in the second coming.
