About Me

My photo
I'm a simple man, not a simpleton. The worst thing any of our leaders can do is to get those two things confused. I'm a warrior for those things I believe in. I stand up for my friends, family, God, and country. All I truly want is for the government to stay as far out of my life as I can get it. Oh and just in case you haven't guessed it; I'm conservative in my bones.

Our chickens are coming home ....to roost!

Well, right now I'm looking at the projected results of the election and I have to say that it's looking bleak. No. Bleak doesn't even come close. I really don't see how McCain pulls this off unless ALL the pundants are wrong and after the 2000 debacle I can't see them making the same mistakes again. So as it stands right now, Obama is 53 short of the election being over. McCain is 156 short.

Forgive me if I don't break into "Hail to the Chief". I am tasting a surprising amount of bile in the back of my throat at the very thought of a confirmed if not admitted socialist in the whitehouse. From this point on EVERY freedom we have abridged for us, we will have earned. We, who profess to love life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, will have put a man in office that will push abortion "rights" to new lows, institute the "fairness doctrine", and make it impossible for small businesses to prosper and make it impossible for middle class people to start new small businesses. Mark me, if he institutes most if not all the things he's proposed we're headed for another depression. And socialism on a scale not seen since "the new deal".

And just in case everyone that voted against McCain, for whatever reason, wants to cry. Shut your pie hole. You earned this. I've found a company that prints I told you so buttons and I'm ready to provide shipping to anyone that wants to about higher taxes, lost rights, lousy end to the war, or wall street hitting 5k.

I know, I sound angry. Trust me, that word doesn't even come close.

Well, I stepped away and looked back at the tv and found that McCain was giving his consession speech. Now we all see if the prognostications that I have posted here will be made fact or fiction. Will my rantings prove out? Or will Obama renounce his socialist background.

Time will tell. And I've got a wheel barrow full of "I told you so!!!" signs to hand out. But God as my witness, I hope that I was wrong about this man.

I know exactly what you mean.

For the good of my country, I hope you proves me wrong, and that I've been engaged in far-right conspiratorial beliefs regarding his past history of associations and gravitations as a reflection of how he would govern as president.

I pray that the office of the presidency will tie his hands from straying too far to the left, where I think his true nature lies.

Hey GW:
I hope you are wrong about Obama and I hope we can come to some ideological agreements as time goes past. Only time will tell and you know I didn't vote for him but his presence is still something that I could never have fathomed. I hope it speaks to the citizens of this country overcoming bigotry.

NOW we need to focus on policy and actually DOING things to affect positive change.

I am going to my local libertarian party meeting in a coupla weeks to do some consciousness raising and perhaps a white paper may come of this. Don't lose hope if you are a fiscal con, our time will come soon.

wordsmith and mahndisa, thanks for coming to my back 40. Like I said before, at least the congress didn't get a bulletproof majority in either house. The republicans can, if they will, do some things to hold the line. filibuster your hearts out guys!

Mahndisa, I love you, I really do. But I can't live in a world of what I wish it were. First law of reason is "what is, is." He has spoken quite eloquently of how he intends to raise taxes on the basis of fairness. And how it is only right to spread the wealth around. Nope, I hold no faith in him and if you reach over and switch off the color controls on your monitor and then watch his exceptance speach through the prism of his being a socialist, you'll get scared.

You should have run. You, I'd have voted for. ;)

Greywolf, thanks for stopping by. I think the biggest fear with Obama is that he keeps his campaign pledges. Spreading the wealth around, bankrupting the coal industry (they only supply 50% of our electricity needs), etc.

I like the blog, I added you to my blogroll.
