The Okiepatriot Has Published

Press release:

Skiatook resident, H. Keith Ent, has recently published his new fantasy novel “The Green Country Adept: Book 1 of the World Tree War”.  The story is of an Oklahoma man who finds that he and his family have been chosen to protect humanity from an ancient war that is once again spilling into our reality.  In order to protect humanity, he’ll have to get two immortal races to agree to keep humanity out of their fight.  To do that, he’s going to have to have help, and for that he’s going to have to look to myth and legend and find those that live in the World Tree, convince them to help, and survive it.

                 Keith grew up in Carmen, Oklahoma, and with the exception of a brief time serving in the Army, he has lived his entire life as an Oklahoman.   He lives on a farm just east f Skiatook, with his wife, three of his four kids, three cats, and two dogs.  Aside from writing fiction, he also writes poetry, has a political blog (for which he tries to atone daily), and is an aspiring blacksmith.

Greywolfe's Resurrection

Hey all and sundry!  It's been over two years since I wrote anything on here, and I thought I'd take a moment to say hi and catch you up with what's been happening in the life and times of the Okiepatriot.  It's been a wild ride full of ups and downs.  So without further ado, here's what my last 26 months has wrought.

First, if you look at my bio it states that I am a warrior for those things that I believe in:  God, family, and country.  So, here's what's happened in each.  First with my God, I have found that he is as loving and forgiving as he has always been to me.  In the last two years, I have done some stupid things and still he has blessed me.  It hasn't been easy, but he has brought me steps closer to my personal land of milk and honey.  exactly 1 year and 1 month ago, I was able to move my family into a cute little farm house on 10 acres of land.  If you go to my Facebook page at www.facebook.com/keith.ent some pics on my timeline that show our new home.  It is the most relaxing place I have ever lived.  The perch pond really helps.  It has been a blessing, but the Lord is making sure I feel that it is worth it, as he has allowed me to face several challenges in getting and keeping it.  If I stay faithful, so will he.

Next, on the list of topics is my family.  Now that we have a place that is ours, my father has made clear his intentions (with my urging, of course) that he wants to move here with us.  I have no words to express how that honors me and gladdens me.  He is every bit as much my hero now, as he was when I was 12.  I have a son who is finishing his high school career this year and will be starting at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma next fall.  If pride is a bad thing, I'll just pay for it, because I am so proud of him it makes my heart ache.  In addition, I have another son that is getting ready to start his senior year and has decided that he is going to pursue a career in welding.  Considering the job growth in the oil field over the last few years, I believe that to be an admirable goal.  My youngest son is getting ready to start his junior year and is also looking to go to a vocational school rather than university.  The very laudable course curriculum that he's chosen is a two year program for law enforcement.  Finally, the last but by no means least of my children is my daughter.  She's decided to continue with her normal studies, entering into her junior year, but seems to be focusing on her Japanese language studies.  With beauty, wit, and intelligence that she's been given, there is no doubt that she'll be a success at whatever she decides to do.  She is the other woman in my life for whom I would gladly die if it meant her happiness.

I'm giving my wife her own paragraph because she is the proof that God is gracious to me.  He has given me the love of my life that, 13 years after we got together, is still the reason that I am sane and in love.  Each day that I spend with her, whether it's working on the house, shopping, or just hanging out not saying a word, I know that I am blessed and highly favored because without that favor and blessing, she would not be with me.  She is my partner in crime and my partner in success.  She motivates me and encourages me to follow my dreams.  Thank you, My Love. 

Well that does it for my family, so I'll talk a little bit now about this country that I so love.  The last six years has worked out pretty much like each and every conservative that visits my page thought it would.  With the exception of the fact that I really am surprised at the ability for Americans to fool themselves into believing that things aren't collapsing.  Or rather I should say that I am surprised that their ability to lie to themselves has actually forestalled, at least temporarily, the collapse that we still see looming.  Most of you saw the eco-wacko movie, "Avatar".  Well, yeah, I've got a teenaged daughter so of course I had to go see it.  I feel like we're at that point just after the bombing of the big tree-city and everyone is watching as it slowly starts to tilt.  We're right at that moment.  It (the economy) is tilting, but it hasn't started picking up speed, though the leaves are starting to fall.  It's one of the reasons that I prayed for a place like this farm.  Ten acres should give me a good chance to find or build self sufficiency. 

Does that mean that I've given up on America and the American dream?  Hell no!  In fact, I just finished writing my first full book.  You can find out about it at http://hkeithent.blogspot.com/.  Currently it is in editing, and I'm still looking for someone to do the cover art, but I am happy that one more dream is being realized.  I've decided that I would follow those things that I am led to do and stop making excuses on why they aren't possible.  I'm making plans to build a new blacksmith shop here on the property(see above comment about self sufficiency) as well as starting a new career path.  Truck driving is for people without interesting lives and families.

So, in closing, I'll tell you that I am indeed worried by the direction our nation is taking.  I am convinced that it isn't going  to be able to survive if we stay the course.  In point of fact, I'd say that we have already crossed the point of no return.  However, God gave me a few gifts, and if I neglect them, or make excuses why I shouldn't do them, NOW, then I'm in rebellion against his wishes and his blessings will dry up.  I am truly sorry that I haven't done more to be on here and keep you, my other family in the loop, but hopefully, those days are past and we can spend more time keeping each other uplifted.

What It Was Like In America Where Men Were Once Free

"Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it on to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free." -Ronald Reagan.

It was a prescient statement, and one that I fear is all too apropos to our current situation.  This great nation was founded as a constitutional republic.  For those that have never bothered to learn their own history, that means that our Founding Fathers had a clear understanding of the evils that are inherent in all forms of government.  Knowing that governments were at best a necessary evil and that they ALL were oppressive by nature, our founders conceived of an entirely new form of government.  They purposefully separated the powers of government and put the three separate parts in an adversarial position in relation to the others.  Then, they limited the powers of the federal government by enumerating its powers and granting all others to the states.  Further, they created a series of 10 amendments that were designed to guarantee our freedom and liberty from the inevitable attacks from the federal government.  The desire to create a government that would both protect and govern justly was so important a task that it was not completed and the constitution ratified until 1789.  It was a task that was thirteen years in the making.  A great experiment where the states would be free to govern as they saw fit, protected by a federal government that was beholden to the states that created it.

Now look at what we have become.  The federal government has become an over-grown behemoth.  Every aspect of our lives is controlled and regulated by the enormous number of bureaucratic organs that the federal government has insinuated into our lives.  Think about it.  Look around your house and list the number of things that you own that the government is directly regulating:  light bulbs, toilets, faucet and shower flow rates, TV's, Refrigerators, movie players, radios, your cars, bikes, and more and more, the food you buy and eat.  Our current government routinely puts its fingers into areas it was never designed or authorized to be in.  The people believe that this was all done for the "good" of the nation and people.  Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, Welfare, Unemployment Insurance...  all social programs that have no authority in the Constitution.  But we have been suckered in to the point that even knowing that those programs total over 70 trillion dollars in unfunded promises in the next 20 years we still won't fight to have them repealed.  I have no idea how that makes you feel reading the words "70 trillion dollars" but it engenders terror in me.  Our complete annual GDP is only about 13 trillion dollars.  If 100% of every dollar was confiscated by the government we still wouldn't have enough wealth to pay for what's coming.  No one wants to face that fact.  Those of us that do are labeled as cruel and cold hearted. 

There is nothing that is farther from the truth.  We are merely trying to preserve that which was given to us.  As Ronald Reagan said every generation, Liberty and freedom are at risk.  It must be fought for to be saved.  Unfortunately, our nation has forgotten what it was supposed to be and has lost its virtue.  Virtue is the lifeblood of Liberty.  I could write quote after quote showing the wisdom of our founders and their views of morality and just governance.  But really, who among you,  really cares?  We hear about the non-existant wall between church and state and everyone cheers its limits.  We kill over 1.2 million babies a year by abortion, but refuse to call it murder or, by and large, show any contempt for the practice. How, if a people will not protect the least and most defenseless among their numbers, how can they have ANY virtues at all?

We are, as a nation, hedonistic and self absorbed.  We want what we see as being owed to us and never mind the cost to those that come after.  How much more can we devolve from our nation's foundation?  We are become unworthy of the legacy that was entrusted to us.  And because of that, we are left now to try to explain to your youth why their futures have been mortgaged and their freedoms abridged in ways that were considered the next best thing to herasy by those men who created this nation.

You people who take the time to read what I write quite possibly know me in ways that even my family doesn't.  You know me as a warrior for my God, my family and my country.  My God has never failed me, even though I have failed him repeatedly.  The same can be said for my family.  They have stood by me during my weak times and seen me through to redemption.  My country on the other hand has abandoned all of the first principles that made us the greatest nation in the history of mankind.

How do we come back?  How do we reforge what is broken?  There is a truism of smithing metal.  If a blade or tool breaks, you don't try to put the pieces back, you start with new steel and forge a new tool or new blade.  I have come to an epiphany of sorts.  Our nation cannot be brought back as it was.  There are too many dead beats that would continue to suck from dry teats.  States like California continue to push a socialist agenda at the expense of the civil society and they are not alone.  The union cannot stand.  Sad as it is, that is a fact that is inescapable.  The dead wood must be gotten rid of before a new constitutional republic would be viable.  I don't think I'll see that in my time.  No, what remains of my life will likely see darker and darker days for this nation.  A collapse is coming.  A complete dissolution of the bounds of civil society.  Look at what is happening in Europe, with a focus on Greece and Italy.  That is our future, only on a scale of magnituded far exceeding those tiny countries.

Understand me, I will fight for this nation, if patriots are called to fight.  I gladly pledge my life, treasure, and sacred honor to help restore this nation.  But I fear that there isn't enough people of like mind to do the job.  We have been robbed of our national heritage.  We have been swindled out of our history and our virtue.  We are morally and financially bankrupt.  And the majority of America just wants their cake.  I hold no hope that things will get better in my life.  So, do what you can to make yourselves ready.  Be self reliant.  Be vigilant. Learn the skills necessary to live when the civil society fails. 

In short, God bless you and grant you his peace.  But keep your powder dry, my friends.

"This beautiful GEM of a nation, this Constitutional Republic is in her current state of being PUBLICLY, REPEATEDLY GANG-RAPED, BEATEN, DEFECATED UPON by bastardized cur-dog Enemy DOMESTICS in part because...

...for over 80 years (far longer for Presbyterians-n-such) 'church' folk (vast, ghastly, and GLORIOUS difference between those "faithful to the CHURCH" and those surrendered to the KING) have had 'itching ears' for warm, smooth slop rather than rich, cold, hard TRUTH.

"Tolerance" has been preached and taught as THE PRIME 'virtue' of a 'christian' (again, religious definitions of godly Truths ain't worth a tinker's dam). Folks have slurped that message up like the only cat in the dairy barn, and have traded their "whole armor of God" for the 'bitch' dress of prisons... PANTS ON THE GROUND.

Why is that such a bad thing?

The 'tolerance' they hold dear is the whoring sister of GUTLESSNESS, not the velvet titanium of godly FORBEARANCE. Our Father would have us trust HIM more than ourselves. Our King would have us obey His statutes over obeying our primal rages. Our Master and Sacrificer for our FREEDOM would have us freely, of our own loving, trusting will follow Him rather than our panting passions.

But when He says something must NOT BE TOLERATED... by GOD, His sons and daughters DON'T TOLERATE IT. Their own comfort, 'peace' and safety is freely offered up on the alter of loving OBEDIENCE!

Thomas Mann was right about one thing - "Tolerance becomes a crime when applied to evil".

Stand up America. Damn it, STAND... mealy mouthed, noodle-spined, gutless cowards of the pulpit AND the pew BE DAMNED!!!"

First Post of 2012

Well, folks, Barry seems to be up and running fairly quickly this year.  So far, he's pushing for over 1 trillion in new debt, done an end run around the checks and balances of the congress, and proposed a plan to, as one news article put it, "eviscerate the military".  I really don't understand this nation.  Seriously.  How is it that there isn't a million screaming, ARMED, and highly motivated patriots storming D.C. to demand his surrender.  He has taken a big healthy bowel movement on every institution that made this nation the success it is, not to mention evey constitutional limit the constitution has placed on his office.

His arrogance and narcissistic entitlement mentality are truly without limits.  For the last 3 years I have railed against what I saw coming.  For the last year, I have warned that there was no way that this next election cycle was going to be allowed to happen and if you look at the attacks his racist pit bull Eric Holder is waging on the states that are trying to control election fraud, it becomes painfully obvious that i was right.  I would hope that the Republicans would band together to fight him, that they would petition the supreme court to stop him from his actions and bring the full weight of whatever remains of our constitution to bear and bring his usurpations to a halt.

But for that to happen, you would have to assume that the Republicans have the best interest of the nation in mind.  And to be honest, I really don't have that kind of faith in almost ANYONE in D.C.  Marco Rubio is the one notable exception.  I once had hopes for Alan West, but he's shown his lack of forethought and perspective where our nation's future is concerned.  No, I no longer believe that there is  going to be a political fix to this situation.  A situation that we have allowed to be by our own apathy.

We may not ever see the "shining city on the hill" again.  And if we don't, all we can do is curse the men and women in the mirror, because every evil that this man and his cohorts commits in the name of America is only possible because we've let those who have evil designs to remain in power for so many years.  We have allowed ourselves to be beaten because we have not had the foresight to see what they were about.

2011 Recap

Well friends, here we are just a couple hours (depending where you are) from calling 2011 a done deal.  I've been through a lot of changes this year.  In fact, they kept coming right up to the last few days, finishing off with a new career.  I'd like to take a few and tell all of my friends that read this that I am so very thankful for your friendship and support through this last year.  Like the nation I love so much, I've seen grief and laughter, fear and blessings, moments of weakness and strength.  I've made new friends and discovered old friends were dying.  But in all of the things that I've been through and been part of, I know that the good Lord has had my back.  I've seen too many things that convince me of his active participation in my life.

As for our nation and the things it's going through, I've seen a lot of things that have disappointed me this last year.  Many of those that were elected last year and that were seen as our warriors for conservative principles have become  However, I've seen other things that lead me to believe that there is a very strong and growing section of America that are becoming increasingly intolerant of the "progressive" agenda and are fighting back.  Record gun and ammunition sales are both very heartening and at the same time, quite disturbing.  The Tea Party has become a national force in political circles and no longer do those in opposition take them lightly.  Indeed, they have tried, with little true success, to foster their own "occupy" movement and in doing so have shown themselves to be violent and anarchic and so most of America is at the least distrusting and at the most, disgusted by the movement.

We are now in a battle, political though it may be, for a new administration to help lead our nation back to the path it was set up to take.  Understand me, if you have read this blog for any time at all, you know that even as I fight for those things I believe in as principle bedrocks of my nature, I also believe that things are playing out as they must for biblical prophecy to come to the end that has been foretold.  It doesn't change what I see as my duty, but it does make it easier to take defeat when it happens as it did with the crushing debt arguments that this nation has been in this past year.  We conservatives were hoodwinked by those we trusted and fed a line that is nothing less than a continuation of the destructive policies that the current administration started 3 years ago.

This next year will bear out whether my belief, the belief that our fate as a free, unified, and strong republic has been compromised beyond redemption, will prove true or that the "shining city on the hill" as Reagan referred to us, still has bright days in store.

I personally believe that until we recapture our heritage as a christian nation, protecting the life of the unborn and making decisions based on what's right and wrong versus what is politically feasable, we will never again recieve the blessings of the Lord as a nation.  Without that, we will not survive as the force of good that we had been in our nation's youth.

Whatever happens, God bless those that call me friend or kin.  God look with mercy on this nation, and I pray that this next year holds blessings never before seen for all of you.  Happy New Year.

Heating Up The Christmas Season

Merry Christmas my friends and family.  This is a season full of bittersweet memories and joy for our saviors birth.  The memories that I find so bittersweet are due to the many loved ones that have gone on to be with our Lord, and the remembrances of the happy days long past.  The Joy of our savior's birth needs no explanation to those of you that share in my faith.  There is only one holiday I enjoy more than Christmas and that's Thanksgiving.  NO, not for the food, but for the fact that I take time to sit down and list out all the blessings that God, in his generosity, has provided.

But this season is not without its pitfalls.  Right now, around the country and across the globe, there are evil forces at work trying to restrict our ability to worship our Lord in public venues or  in our home towns.  80% of America believes in Christ Jesus and yet we are required by bullies and malcontents to hide our faith instead of shining it out like beacons in the night.  For the last couple of weeks I have been monitoring a fight in east Texas, where a small town is being bullied by an out of state atheist organization, with the purpose of making this town tear down a nativity.  This weekend, over 5000 people gathered in a rally in praise of our Lord and support of the town's nativity scene.  God bless them.
In Europe, the Muslims push the European nations further and further from their christian heritage so as to not foment discord amongst Islamists.  Time and again the European powers show their lack of spine in the face of the encroachment of Islam.  Christians are being murdered and persecuted in countries all across the middle and far east in numbers that haven't been seen or rather reported in decades.

All across the world there are wars, and rumors of wars.  Kim Jong Il was recently reported to have changed his name to Kim Jong Dead, and no one seems to know what that means for the small insanity driven nuclear power called North Korea. 

Throw into the middle of all of this, our own bit of insanity called the presidential election cycle and the fact that for all intents and purposes, we have been eating our own in personal attempts at power grabbing and fear mongering.  I don't care which side of the isle you look at, both parties have decided that scorched earth is the only way to get power.  No candidate is going to be perfect, however I will point out that there are some perfectly awful positions that we may find ourselves in. 

The first and foremost of these positions would be to allow Barry Obama to stay in office another 4 years.  Frankly, anyone other than Ron Paul would do just fine as president, with a few provisos of course.  The first and foremost of these would be that we gain a conservative majority in both houses of congress.  Notice I didn't use the words "Republican majority" but rather "Conservative Majority".  That is key.  With enough Conservatives brought into power, the evils that any president is capable of can be muted or supressed entirely.  All bills must start in the house or senate.  And vetos can be over ridden if the will is there.

So many are putting so much energy into which one of the candidates will  be our "savior".  Look where that line of thinking got us with Barry.  He was supposed to be the "savior" of the left.  And I suppose from a socialist point of view, he's doing very well.  But we cannot afford that.  We must take the Congress back, and use it's legislative power to do what the President cannot, removed all of the dangerous and malignant laws that the dems and the Obama administration have put in place.

If you are looking for a savior, I suggest reading the red letters in a good Bible.  The rest will take care of itself.  A little food for thought, though; We may not have always gotten the leader that we wanted, but I'm pretty sure we've always gotten the leaders  that we deserved.  Let's make sure that we deserve better in the future.
